Rights at the Round Table – Youth Forum on Human Rights
Dec 9th 2011 2pm – 4pm
@Signal Youth Space (Behind Flinders St Station, Flinders Walk Northbank)
Rights at the Round Table is a youth forum, held for International Human Rights Day.
Ideas and expectations around gender roles will be explored and discussed between young people.
What are the traditional expectations of a woman? Of a man? How do we apply these in an environment with school, work education and families? In an intercultural relationship what are the challenges you face? Can we be so different but also have equal rights and privileges?
Hosted by Alia Gabres (Centre for Poetics and Justice) with guest speakers and facilitators Nasro Yussf and Boori Pryor. These key speakers represent the First Australians and culturally diverse Australians.
Catering by the Asylum Seekers Resource Centre.
